I was right that Akiyama would win, but I was more impressed with myself in saying it will be fight of the night. UFC awarded both fighters 100K for their performances.
Dan Henderson knocking out Bisping was incredible!
Called the Lesnar fight almost to a T.
I picked all the Main Card winners fine. My methods were all off, but the winners were right. Ten out of eleven!

UFC 100 Picks- Main Card
Main Card Predictions
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
I'm most excited about this fight. Akiyama is the best fighter you have never heard of. He's a legit top 5 middleweight and could seriously challenge Anderson Silva for the title. His only loss is from a fight with a guy 80 lbs. heavier than him. Belcher used to be a gatekeeper of the division, but now he's taking his job seriously and the results have followed. I think if Akiyama can handle the transition from a ring to a cage, he'll win. Either way, this fight will be Fight of the Night.
Prediction: Akiyama, Submission, Rd. 2
Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago
Thiago knocked out a foolish (for not wanting to wrestle) Josh Koscheck. Fitch will come in smarter than his teammate Kos and wear out a prepared Thiago. Fight could end early, but look for a decision in favor of Fitch. If Thiago somehow pulls this out, he's beat two top 5 welterweights. I can't see that happening though.
Prediction: Fitch, Very Unanimous Decision
Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping
Bisping is a fool if he think he can knock out Dan Henderson. Hendo has fought the best and has never been knocked out. Bisping will look good for a round or two, but Henderson will prove to be too much.
Prediction: Henderson, Unanimous Decision
UFC WW Champion Georges St. Pierre vs. Thiago Alves
St. Pierre is the most complete fighter in MMA. I'm not particularly fond of him (I'm a Matt Hughes fan) but I respect his style and dedication. I think Alves will be looking to use his strength and striking and look (too hard) to knock out the champ. GSP will eat a few knees on his way to takedown Alves, but he will eventually get him down, control Thiago Alves, and pull of a smooth submission.
Prediction: GSP, Submission (Armbar), Rd. 4

Toughest fight to call. Lesnar will have improved leaps and bounds. Mir looked good against Big Nog. I say...
Prediction: Lesnar, TKO, Rd. 3 to set up the best Trilogy since Liddell/Couture!

I haven't done picks for a UFC event in awhile, and with UFC 100 coming up tonight, I decided to make some predictions.
Undercard
Stephan Bonnar vs. Mark Coleman
Bonnar is too young and has good enough jiu jitsu to submit a tired, old Coleman in the second round.
Prediction: Bonnar, submission, Rd. 2
Jon Jones vs. Jake O’Brien
Jon Jones is a freak. O'Brien will try to wrestle (aka lay on him) a decision but Jones will prevail.
Prediction: Jones, TKO, Rd. 3
TJ Grant vs Dong Hyun “Stun Gun” Kim
Stun Gun will land a lot of punches. Grant will try a lot of subs. Split Decision written all over this evenly matched up fight.

I think Danzig will be winning this fight, but look for a Miller submission out of nowhere.

Thoughts I Think
1. I love my wife!
2. I played golf the other day for the first time since dislocating my thumb in October. Felt great!
3. I wish the Knicks traded up to get Stephen Curry. Sigh...
4. I used to love the Sega game Mutant Football League. It was football with aliens and monsters. When you played in space, you could throw the deep ball real easy and when you hit the other team, they could float away. Also, you could bribe the refs. Fantastic game!
5. Back to golf, I shot a 102, which for me is good. I shot a 45 back 9, and I was really visually seeing the ball better and was able to play a more strategic game. I credit it to playing the Wii on my off days.
6. I can't wait for UFC 100.
7. I always enjoy watching Seinfeld, no matter how many times I've seen the episode.
8. I want cowboy boots.
9. I didn't think asparagus really made your pee smell. It does.
10. I should own something spandex. Preferably a onesie.
That's on my mind.

Father's Day Special
This is the Father's Day Edition of my blog:
Top 5 Things That Define My Dad, Big Frank:
1) Provider. Big Frank always made it priority #1 to take care of his family and I'm extremely thankful for it.
2) Coach. Big Frank not only coached me in sports, but in life and how to be a man.
3) Husband. Anyone who puts up with my mom for 25 years deserves some sort of award!
4) Comedian. Who cares if it's the same 4 jokes recycled over time!
5) Mustache. He keeps it there to remind people of this: I was a cop, and I mean business.

Big Red
Just read the story of Jacob and Esau (aka BIG RED, according to Dr. Hindson) and it got me thinking. Isaac was married at 40, prayed for kids, and had to wait til he was 60. That's a long wait.
Later in the passage (Genesis 25:19-34 if you want to read it), Esau sold his birthright (basically, his inheritance, although with more honor, leadership, and blessings) to his brother Jacob for a bowl of stew. Esau perceived at that moment that he was "dying of starvation" after a big game hunt, but in all reality, his perception of that moment skewed his thinking of the future.
Let's compare these two similar circumstances:
Isaac and Esau wanted something. They both wanted it NOW.
Isaac prayed. Isaac was blessed.
Esau acted. Esau lost out on blessings.
Sometimes God allows us periods of time to go by in order for us to mature, appreciate his answers, and show us our real needs. When we "pull an Esau" and live for the moment, we lose out on long term blessings that God promises us when we choose to seek Him instead of seeking "Now".

Water the Camels
Hello blogosphere!
I help out with the children's ministry at my church, and this week we learned about Abraham sending his servant to get a wife for his son Isaac. Then I opened my Bible up and lo and behold, the chapter (Genesis 24) I was reading was that same story. Of course, teaching small children the story is a lot different then teaching a 22 year old child in myself. Ok, maybe not a lot different.
Anyway, the story goes that Abraham asks one of his servants to go to his homeland and get a wife for his son Isaac. This was the norm for marriages at the time. I looked at this passage with a different approach. It wasn't about Abraham or Isaac or Rebekah, but rather the response of the servant Eliezer, and also Laban and Bethuel (Rebekah's family). If you can, check out the chapter, but specifically look into verses 12-14, 21, 50 and 52. Their understanding of what it means to do God's work is incredible and incredibly easy. Here it is:

I love verse 21 where Eliezer watches in silence, wondering if the Lord answered his prayer. He saw that God did and he immediately thanked God and worshiped him. His response was praise and thanksgiving.
It made me think... How many times when God tells me to do something, my response ends in silence wondering if it truly was God instead of trusting His work and thanking him for using me?

Bill's Blog: Wedding Edition!
So in case you lived under a rock the past month... I got married! Everything about it was fantastic, but for the sake of this blog and your entertainment, I created a top ten list of the best parts of the wedding!
1. The ducks. In the middle of our ceremony, we had some ducks start quacking and walking up trying to interrupt our lovely day. It was great! Except they bit our photographer and one of my best friends, Jesse Pomeroy. Sorry Jess!
2. Watching Rachel and her dad rock out to their Father-Daughter dance, "Sweet Child of Mine" by Guns 'N' Roses. Jim air guitaring with a broken rib was impressive!
3. Ben Young. He was "that guy" at the wedding. As in: my family watched the dance floor and asked, "who's that guy?" Clad in a nice black suit, thin black tie, the man was dressed sharply and quite the dancer. Props Ben Young, props.
4. All our LU friends dancing with the little kids. Too cute.
5. Leaving the reception to go on our honeymoon!!!
6. Table 11 literally paying off the DJ to get their table called.
7. Rachel Kuhl catching the bouquet and her excitement of continuing her streak of 4 weddings in a row!
8. Getting to the reception before everyone else (they were stuck in traffic), turning around and leaving to get a McDonald's milkshake with Rachel, Jesse, Bryan and Janice.
9. My cousin Jayden discovering he was my cousin. He came up to the head table, asked me who I was, and was flabbergasted that I knew him, and was related! It was great.
10. And the best part of the whole wedding was marrying my best friend, my wife, the love of my life, Rachel Lynn MURAWSKI!
